Investment Philosophy
Investing in line with its values
Today, investors are looking for financial strategies based on a new vision. It's about creating value over long term. They have a responsability as investor and can choose investments including social impact and environmental respect.
Two goals
Investor can choose investments that aim at financial goal and non financial goal (governance issue, environmental respect, human rights issue).
How?
Our ‘Active Investors’ fund managers are in close and continuous discussions with company CEOs helping them to improve company practices in both governance and social business strategies, thereby improving their overall assessment on the financial markets.
PhiTrust will initially pursue governance initiatives where:
- They are easy to implement (general principles accepted by investors, quick decision-making)
- They are widely understood in the French market due to the fact that Anglo-saxon markets have been pursuing them for some time already.
- They have a real and overall impact on the company’s SRI policy.
Direct discussions with company CEOs, before, during and after AGMs are not commonplace in France. And yet initiatives are the most efficient mechanism for advancing corporate practices to meet those identified by investors. Voting policy combined with shareholder initiatives have become an integral part of a long-term shareholder advocacy approach.
